History of The DHS Club

Dick Burke

The DHS Club was founded in Englewood, FL in 1997 by Dick Burke, a successful businessman and entrepreneur.

At age 19, Dick joined the United States Air Force and became an Accounting and Finance Specialist and received numerous awards and commendations, while also attending college at night.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the USAF, he started his first business in direct sales, which led him to become a Sales Manager for a New Home Construction Company in Port Charlotte, FL. Under his leadership, the company quickly became the largest new home construction company in Charlotte County and one of the largest in the state of Florida as well.

That experience enabled him to start a New Home Construction Company (Florida Lifestyles Enterprises, Inc.) and a Real Estate Company (Compu-Search Realty, Inc.), both of which became successful enterprises that provided new homes for hundreds of customers.

After suffering from a bad accident, and being unable to work for six months, Dick decided to sell his two companies and work as an independent real estate professional. He quickly became a leader in local property sales, while beginning to consider starting a new business - an international shopping club. In March of 1997, Dick left behind over 100 real estate listings to do the research and development to start his new business.
